Do you provide breakdown in Europe?

We only provide breakdown assistance in the UK.

What is the phone number if I breakdown?

In the event of a breakdown please call us on 07711 29 19 10.

Can I request assistance immediatly after purchasing breakdown cover with you?

Unfortunately no. Our memberships carry a 48 hour inception period, which means that for the first 48 hours from when your membership commences, you will not be able to call upon our service. This also applies if you change your vehicle during the course of your membership! If you are broken down do not buy cover online. Call us, we still can provide assistance on a paid basis.

How long does your membership lasts?

BreakdownClub memberships have no expiry date. You can cancel your membership at any time (after 6 months) without any cancellation fees or charges. If you cancel your membership in the first six months you will incurr a £25 cancellation charge.

Do your memberships cover me or the vehicle?

All our memberships cover the vehicle and not you personally. This means that no matter who is driving the vehicle, as long as they are doing so legally and with your permission as the membership holder, they can call upon our service. Also if you own more than 1 vehicle we offer 40% discount on the second vehicle.

How do i claim 40% discount on my second vehicle?

At checkout you are asked if you have a voucher code, just enter the code 2NDCAR40 and the 40% discount is applied immediatly.

What are the memberships payments options?

You can pay your membership monthly or annualy by recurring debit or credit card payment.

You can cancel your membership at any time (after 6 months) without any cancellation fees or charges. If you cancel your membership in the first six months you will incurr a £25 cancellation charge.

► What Is Your Average Attendance Time?

Our average attendance time is 40 minutes.

Do you provide assistance if I am involved in a road traffic accident?

We will arrange for your vehicle to be collected from the scene of the accident and towed to a safe destination.

You will need to provide us with your insurance name and policy number and we will recover the costs from your insurance or the third party directly.

If you are at fault a FAULT claim will be recorded against your insurance policy.

► Do you provide assistance if my vehicle is vandalised or stolen?

Unfortunately we are unable to assist.

► How do I change my membership details?

For any changes relating to your membership, please call us on 07711 29 19 10 or login to your account.

► How much does it cost to make changes to my membership?

If you change your vehicle, name or address, there will be no costs.

If you change your membership level, there will a different monthly/annually cost, which you will be made aware of at the time of  the change.

► What happens when I change my vehicle?

The 48 hour inception period will apply when you change a vehicle, meaning you have to wait at least 48 hours from when you make the change to being able to request breakdown assistance. 

How often can I change my vehicle?

3 changes of vehicle are permitted within a 12 month period. Temporary changes of vehicle are not permitted.

Am I covered for lost, damaged or stolen keys?

Our memberships as standard do not cover the loss, damage or theft of keys.

► Am I covered for locked keys inside the vehicle?

If you lock your vehicle keys in the vehicle, we will pay the auto locksmith call-out charge. You’ll need to provide proof of ownership of the vehicle and a driving licence. (GOLD, PLATINUM and BUSINESS ONLY).

Do you cover flat tyres or puncture?

All of our cover levels cover you in the event of having a flat, blown or punctured tyre.

How many callouts am I allowed?

We offer unlimitted callouts. Call us out as many times as you need to, as long as it's not a recurring problem with your vehicle.

What types of vehicles to cover?

You can purchase memberships for cars, vans and motorcycles.

Max Weight (gross): 3.5 tonnes.

Max Length: 5.50 metres (18feet)

Max Width: 2.3 metres (7.5 feet)

What is the maximum age of vehicle covered?

The maximum permissible age of vehicle is 20 years.

I dont have a membership with BreakdownClub can I stll request assistance?

Sure. We would be able to help you on a paid basis.

Yes - we cover caravans, campervans and trailers as well as cars, motorbikes and vans. That's as long as it's less than 3.5 tonnes (3,500kg) and 8ft 3in (2.55m) wide.

Roadside

Roadside is standard with all Breakdown Club Memberships. The roadside as the name might suggest is

help at the side of the road.

Homestart

If your vehicle will not start or breaks down at or within ¼ of a mile of your home we will either repair it there or if that is not possible take it to the nearest suitable garage. Please note we will only cover the cost of a recovery up to 10 miles.

Local Recovery

Cover applies within the territorial limits, more than ¼ mile from your home address. We will arrange, your vehicle and up to 6 passengers to be transported to your home or original destination within the territorial limits WITHIN 10 miles.

Accident Recovery *

We will arrange for your vehicle to be collected from the scene of the accident and towed to a safe destination.

* You will need to provide us with your insurance name and policy number and we will recover the costs from your insurance or the third party directly.

If you are at fault a FAULT claim will be recorded against your insurance policy.

National Recovery

If we are unable to repair your vehicle at the roadside we will recover you to a garage of your choice, your destination

or home address (whichever is nearer).

Onward Travel

Transport for the driver and up to six passengers to your destination or your home address (whichever is nearer).

Misfuel

If you or a permitted driver have misfuelled your vehicle, we will arrange and pay for our misfuel assistance contractor to drain and remove the contaminated fuel, which will become the property of our misfuel assistance contractor.

No Fuel

We will bring enough fuel to enable you to drive to the nearest fuel station.

Unlimited Callouts

We offer unlimited callouts. Call us out as many times as you need to, as long as it's not a recurring problem with your vehicle.

Keys locked in the car

If you lock your vehicle keys in the vehicle, we will pay the auto locksmith call-out charge. You’ll need to provide proof of ownership of the vehicle and a driving license.

Caravan / Trailer

Any caravan (up to 7 metres/23 feet long, not including the length of the a-frame or hitch) or trailer (up to 3.05 metres/10 feet long including any load, not including the length of the a-frame or hitch) attached to the broken down vehicle will be recovered with the vehicle.

In the event of a breakdown to the caravan or trailer being towed by the vehicle, we will recover it to the nearest suitable garage or your preferred destination if closer. Any caravan or trailer must be attached using a standard 50 millimeter (2 inches) towing coupling

Driver illness / Injury

If you are unable to continue your journey due to illness or injury (a medical certificate will be required), provided none of your passengers are able to drive, we will provide an alternative driver to return the vehicle to your nominated destination. If you are unable to accompany your vehicle, we will provide alternative transport up to the value of £100.00 on a pay and claim basis.
